Debora Dragseth Honored with Multiple Writing Awards by North Dakota Professional Communicators

MINOT, N.D. — Debora Dragseth, Baker Boy Professor of Leadership at Dickinson State University, has been recognized for her exceptional writing and communication skills with multiple awards presented by the North Dakota Professional Communicators (NDPC). The honors were announced at the NDPC’s annual conference held in Minot on May 9.
Dragseth earned top honors in seven categories, second place in three, and an honorable mention in one, placing her third overall in the statewide 2025 NDPC Sweepstakes competition. Her award-winning entries span a wide range of topics and formats, underscoring her versatility and depth as a communicator.
“Recognition from NDPC is a tremendous honor,” said Dragseth. “I’m especially grateful to the DSU Heritage Foundation and The Heart River Voice for giving me the opportunity to share my work. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community of communicators in North Dakota.”
First-place entries will advance to the national competition hosted by the National Federation of Press Women. Winners will be announced at the NFPW Communications Conference on September 13 in Golden, Colorado.

Dragseth is also the co-author of two forthcoming books celebrating Dickinson State’s football heritage: 100 Years of DSU Football and the children’s companion book, An Alphabet Book for Little Blue Hawks.
